Seems that the mysterious substance is called Cosmoline and is part of the shipping preparation from Inglstodt and is not a problem at all. Funny, I knew I was on to something too when 3 of the 4 TT's on the lot had it...

So, as Roseanne used to say... "never mind".

Glen, I actually report the cosmoline a week or 2 ago! :) I have had quite a bit ooze out already! Sorry Glen, I know you had something of substance in there. :) I'm not entirely sure I agree on the Cosmoline part, since I thought that was only an engine protectant and the goo was from the rear of the car (if I remember correctly)...but I concur on the "some kind of protectant type goo that was leaking out / didn't entirely get cleaned off".
