How do you like your 99.5?? (I saw the cup holder hehehe)

You mentioned that you used the in-car wiring. Does that mean the mic and left door speaker are wired into the hands free??
I would appreciate any info you could offer. Please email it to me.

Thanx in advance.

Oh ya, how do you like the 6100?? Its the one I'm interested in too.

Dear Allan,
Finally gave up my old 550 Analog Motorola when I got my 99.5 on 6/25/99 - replaced w/Nokia 6162, Flip. Had installer all set w/Nokia handsfree kit and Profit mount, until he/we determined Profit hasn't made a 99.5 unit yet.

Is this of your own design and construct? I also have same questions as others - Is this fully integrated with internal wiring and mic.?

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated - and it looks great by the way.

Best Regards,

I too wanted to get the Pro-Fit mount but i ran into the same problem as you did...Pro-Fit did NOT have one out yet. Also, I found that on previous years that Pro-Fit made the mount, it would mount next to the radio, not the climate control area. That presented a problem of it being too high. I therefore proceded to make my own, to my own specs (angle of view, distance away from center console, etc.) Another issue i ran into was that of the wiring. I wanted a clean install and if the mount is near the radio, then the wires would should more than it does now and would require additional modification. As you can see from the pic, I nipped away at the corner on top of the ashtray to run the wires. The ashtray btw still functions with no problem.

The wiring is directly patched into the in-car wiring, utilizing both the mic in the sunroof console and the left speaker. The radio mutes when the phone rings and when I place a call. The radio then returns when I finish a call.

The kit I purchased included the handset that I mounted in the armrest so that during conversations which require privacy, I can just open up the handrest, pick up the phone and talk. The good thing about that is whe I do use the handset, the handsfree turns off and the radio turns back up. Great little feature.

Hope this helps everyone.

Alan -

Read your post with interest - would like to purchase your mount if available. You obviously have done your homework, and I fully agree that lower would be better.

Best Regards
