I'm going to take my car in for front windshield replacement tomorrow. A stone hit the windshield the other day. Farmers won't cover it. Deductible too high. Audi of America and Dealer did not want to negotiate a replacement and I could not fake a stress fracture with this huge hole the stone left in the center of windshield. Too obvious.<p>Vendor: Safelite - San Diego<br>Cost: Premium Glas $316 (Don't know what brand it is though) PPG, Sekurit etc etc.<br>Regular Glas would set you back $180.<br>Hope I won't have any wind noises and sealer on my seats afterwards! <p>Roger<p>

Roger, go for the Good Windshied glass - there is a difference and it can be noticable. Shouldn't be any trouble to replace it right. Maybe see you out on the road sometime. Steve (white A4 clairmont area)

Steve,<p>I have a black 1.8T and live in the Downtown area. I've seen a silver A4 with huge exhaust in the Hillcrest area. Don't know who it is.<p>Thanks, I'll go for the premium glass and see you on the road. <br>Roger

i got my a4 used.<br>After a month of washing, i noticed that there was a leak (pool of water in center console under handbrake level).<p>Took into dealer. They discovered that it as a sealing problem on the top of the window. <br>They said they would fix it as i had just got the car from them. <p>They did warn me, however, that as the glass was not Audi genuine parts, they were under no obligation to do so, had the car not been purchased from that dealership.<p>seems as though the prior owner had had the glass replaced. I had never noticed.<p>Also, i noticed that the 1996 a4 and the 1998 a4 have a different seal around the wind screen. make sure to notice the way the seal looks BEFORE you go to get it changed (if u decide not to go to the dealership.) And make sure that the new one is the same . Not flush=wind noise!!<p>good luck<p>1996 a4 2.8 qm<br>
