wow!

Versus my car: the brakes had alot more bite up top and the clutch felt totally different.

This car had the MKII suspension but I didn't push it much.

Nothing personal against the guys here that won't chip/exhaust/lower their cars but after driving a stock 180 I trully feel that the factory could have done better. Against my car with a Garrett Chip, Borla Exhaust, H&R Springs and a couple of other little goodies my friends car was a boat (again no offense). My car felt 30-40% more powerful and had 100% better handling, never mind the better looks that come with lowering.
In total the three basic mods that I mentioned if you shopped and negotitated a little would cost about $2300(canadian) installed and not one person would ever complain (except about why they waited so long)

Again, no offense to bone stock cars but if I were you I would hook up with someone on the forum with a chipped/lowered car and FEEL the difference themselves. Then judge for yourself!

With the H&R springs, I loved the ride/handling balance in Larry's car. It was enough to make the stock suspension setup feel sloppy and overly soft. Body roll was dramatically reduced (and I do feel it is excessive in the stock setup), and the steering was sharper. I had mixed feelings about the chip (I prefer high-rpm power to low-end torque, so I've never been much of a flag waver for the 1.8T engine), but agree that it was also an improvement over stock.

I would definitely be making similar mods myself, if my bloody car was reliable...
