Instructions say vertical for A4, but the changer is mounted horizontally. Were previous model A4 changers mounted vertically? If so, maybe my instructions are for pre-99.5. Thanks for any replies.

If you have a 99.5 the changer sits HORIZONTALY, if you have a 99 or pre, it sits VERTICALLY.

I realize the 99.5 changer sits horizontally, but does that also mean the horizonal/vertical screw setting should be on H (horizontal)? If so, my instructions are wrong (they say screws should be set to Vertical for the A4) and were probably for a pre-99.5.

The changer is the same one that has been used for a few years. Prior to 99.5, it sat in a "basket" in the trunk with the opening towards the trunk lid. In 99.5 the changed the "basket" to a "rack" and now the changer sits horizontally in this rack with the opening facing the right side of the trunk.

Since the changer is the same as prior, audi has not updated the instructions to include the 99.5, which is why they say to set to vertical. Which was true before the 99.5.

Hope this cleared things up. To be real simple, it it sits horizontally, set it to H. If it sits vertically, set it to V. :)
