Has anybody considered buying or actually bought sheepskin seat covers for their TTR? I've had them on my A4 seats for 3 years and they're so comfortable--cool in the summer and warm in the winter--that I'm thinking of getting them for the roadster I'm supposed to get next month.
- Any companies particularly good or bad?
- Any problems from the air bags?
- Any problems fitting them in the tight space behind the seats?
- Pros and cons?
- Other issues?

Many thanks for any/all ideas.

Custom sheepskin seat covers are @$350/pair and they alter the semi-custom covers for the side impact bags. Meanwhile they are researching a pattern for the TT for my request.

There are definitely problems, but the companies know this. My wife's Volvo has the same problems and the sheepskin covers she got just don't go around the places the bags explode from.

I'll add my 2 cents to the company you mention. Thanks.
MelloA4

Where are your wife's from and are they custom made for the vehicle? Seems to me that if they are custom cut to accommodate the bags there shouldn't be an issue, right? What kind of problems have you had with the Volvo seats?

She got hers from "The Sheepskin Experts" in Van Nuys, CA, 1-800-558-6188. (Same place I got mine for the A4.) They were custom, in that they made them in small enough volumes that they charged the custom price. Very well done, nicely finished, excellent skins, etc. There shouldn't be a problem with the bags, except that because they don't wrap around the outboard side of the seats (where the bags explode from), they really don't look as good as on seats that don't have that problem. Been driving it for over a year with no problem.

I was particularly curious to see whether anyone had used a company that already designed for the TTR. When I installed the covers in the two sedans, there's a lot of climbing around behind the front seats to gather and attach binding straps. Well . . . not much room for that behind the TTR seats.
MelloA4
