I understand the time issue BETTER THAN ANYONE & hate to waste time. But love my cars. I want them to be clean. My 20 year old cars you could eat off the engines.

My method:
Car and brakes must be cool.
Car is ZAINOED - it just makes that dirt & water roll off (that is another post)
1. Spray wheels with "DUST OFF" brand of wheel cleaner (available in ADVANCE AUTO PARTS). The VW -AUDI wheel cleaner works too, but is a PIA if your dealer is not around the corner. Rinse off in 60- 90 seconds (see #2b)

2a . Wet car first, I use a thing that holds soap /fluid & spits it out with the flow of water. They must use it Gardening to spread liquid fertilizer or whatever. Anyways it Soaps up the car real good. I let it sit for a second and try to SPRAY off the bugs first and any dirt.
2b. Rinse off the wheels in order that you sprayed the cleaner on while you are soaping the car within the proscribed time.

3. Use a clean CALIFORNIA DUSTER, I wet it with the hose and put some CAR soap (zaino soap great BTW) right on the "duster"
The Duster is now a washer. If it's good enough to put on your car dry, it's good enough wet I thought to myself. The Huge size of the duster lets you wash the car in seconds.

4. Rinse (I have brass snap hose connectors) with "flat spay" or "shower" selected on you hose nozzle - "SprayMate" nozzle available Home Depot is great -it's GOOD tough plastic -easier to handle in Winter- the head of the nozzle is rubberized so it it gets away fom you it will not scratch the car.

5.Have 2 large 100 percent cotton, BRAND NAME BATH towel . 10 bucks. available anywhere. BATH towels are huge & absorbant. I drag towel 1 over the car head to toe spread open quickly almost running absorbing all the big drops.
Back & forth & around the car. I NEVER vigorously "RUB " the car dry.

Towel 2 for the final drying of the damp car

For those who have one a POWER BLOWER to dry the grill !!!!!!!!!!
I have even taken to blowing off the water from the body before I apply the towel.

ZAINO IS NO CLEANER (THANK GOD), it is the the BEST for protecting and SHINING your car esp if you like that BUTTER FEEL

ZAINO or MEGUIRES leather conditioner
ENDURANCE or ZAINO for that LONG wheel Shine
Use a Foam"WHEEL SCRUBBER" (PEP BOYS part 0-70826-20233 $3.99-looks like a cone for heavy brake dust.
