I just saw a new way to avoid a front license-plate bracket. I was driving along, and I saw a new Prelude with the plate affixed to the inside of the windshield above the rearview mirror! It sounds like a great idea, but it looked really, really weird. It shows through the windshield like a sore thumb... I couldn't stop looking at it. And I guess that ruins the whole point of avoiding a front plate...

Someone told me that you won't get pulled over for no front plate, but they'll add it on as a fix-it if you get pulled over for another reason. I've noticed a lot of people driving around without a front plate so it doesn't seem to be a big problem. I guess I'll just try it without and see what happens...

(BTW, a guy at the dealer suggested, if I do get a fix-it for the front plate, go buy some double sided tape, affix the bracket with it right before I go to get the ticket cleared, then just peel the bracket off afterwards.)

keeping the California at the top but making all the rest of the white narrow. BTW I haven't had a front plate on my 124 Fiat Spider for 20 years and I have only beenpulled over once. I keep it in the trunk and tell them it won't stay on. No ticket.

As a retired cop (and no front plate TT owner) I know that in most instances no department is going to make it enforcement policy to stop one solely for no front plate. No safety issue involved. However, they can use it for a probable cause stop. Probably won't do that because it's a newer expensive car not normally associated with criminal activity. But, Tint you windows a tad too much, and you increase the odds of a stop in many metropolitan areas. Tinted windows are considered an "officer safety" issue, and torque some cops. I know if you stake out on a PD parking lot, you'll see the troops driving all sorts of personal stuff to and from work, with no front plates, tinted windows, etc. There are other factors, but probably pretty esoteric.
