Was looking for some information on VR5 engine and found this posting on VWvortex web site:

Anyway the 1.8T is better than the 2.3 V5. The have the same amount of HP but the torque on the 1.8T is higher and it has a much flatter curve, although the 2.3 is more "comfortable", it isn't as jerky as the 1.8T. My choice for the Mk4 is the new V6 or the 1.8T with heavy mods. A company in Germany called Digi-Tec (www.digi-tec.net) can squeeze 320HP out of the small 1.8T but it costs 32.000DM which is around $17.600.

Didn't find the info on 320 HP motor but found the page for chipped 225Q, they list 380N·m torque @ 2500 rpm & 265 HP. Audi claims 6-speed good for 250N·m. Does anyone know if 380 claim inflated?
