I want to make sure it is the correct choice. I read a comment about the APR feeling much faster. The Wett numbers are higher? Please advise.

View Full Version : Has anyone had multiple chip experiences? Which felt faster or more powerful? Wett is on order and Paul 08-25-1999, 01:30 PM I want to make sure it is the correct choice. I read a comment about the APR feeling much faster. The Wett numbers are higher? Please advise. Omar Faheed 08-25-1999, 01:47 PM The kit had a different Turbo unit, exhaust, chip. Power is somewhere around 240. It has worked very well so far in it's lifetime. I only have 18,000 km on the vehicle so far. I am not sure about longevity of the motor with this upgrade Jim 08-25-1999, 01:49 PM APR--Who is APR? The poster calling himself dr bimmer is usually helpful and couteous (even though it's obvious what brand he prefers). Also he posts as Dr Bimmer no period after dr, leading me to believe that someone else is posting this flame-bait and missed the details. Please give the real guy a fair shake, he's here to be helpful, unlike this idiot. [of course I could be wrong, maybe a rude A4 driver ruined his composure]. Jason H 08-25-1999, 02:56 PM I was right. I went over to bimmer.org (where they do log IP#'s) and sure enough there were posts by DrBimmer that were freindly and informative and then there was a post by a Dr[.]Bimmer that that was rude. turns out they have different IP's (the rude one was from an AOL account, big surprise) Also found the post below about the real guy finding his user name stolen at another site. It's really one thing to just come in here as an a**hole to stir things up, but its quite another to be such a f*****g loser that you steal the name of a courtious owner of another make, and lead everyone here to hate him. Time to go back under that rock buddy.

bimmer.org post

curious 08-25-1999, 03:03 PM Steve S. 08-25-1999, 03:18 PM Billy... 08-25-1999, 03:24 PM tk2x 08-25-1999, 04:29 PM RobertG 08-25-1999, 05:01 PM . I think your supervisory "rights" in the system allow you to filter out stuff like that, or I could be dreaming of controls that don't exist yet.... I'm a former auditor ya know.....it never goes away... :-P Marcus Frost 08-25-1999, 07:18 PM There are two types of ips this guy can have. 1) a static one, which never changes or 2) a dynamic one, that changes everytime he signs onto the net. To freeze out a single ip is useless unless he has a static ip because he's just going change ip's next time he dials into his provider. If he goes as far as banning all type c connections from a certain provider (like if a provider assigns ips 207.1.12.1 - 207.1.12.199 banning 207.1.12.* would be a solution), if the provider is rather large it may accidentally be banning users who have done nothing wrong here, and just use the same internet provider as the person at fault. It is unfortunate that bimmer owners are turning on THEMSELVES to try and rip on audis. Sigh. Oh well. They should work out a login system here to prevent posts like that. Have each account verified at first, and then just have a login name and password that can be accessed anywhere. That would help.
