View Full Version : Saw my first "on the road" TT (other than mine today in a parking lot) more

It was black, had a bug-streaked window, and the wheels were dirty and and nearly black. Waited a few minutes for the owner, he/she didn't show, left a card and note. I will NEVER let my car get like that (unless I am traveling and I can still find some water wherever I am). It just looked very 'plain' and unkempt.

The silver TT I saw in a local mall parking lot (in Mississippi, no less!) was immaculate. Not a single bit of brake dust on the car, no bug streaks (even though it's lovebug season here), and the guy had even painted his MS plate silver to match the car. Waited around for 15 minutes just admiring (and drooling) the car, and talked to the owner for a few minutes. I was really surprised to find that this guy wasn't a poseur who bought the car just to get noticed. He had already swapped out the brake pads for the no-dust variety and said that he planned on picking up the Garrett ECU. Quite impressive considering that the vehicle of choice in my area is a 'redneck sports car' (pick -em-up truck). Should have seen the people slowing down on the highway to get a look at the car.

Sorry, but I just have to add that I am in lust with this car. It is the most beautiful car in the world. I'll have to wait till February at the earliest to get one, though.

I'm wondering if this level af admiration, which many of us have, is also common with other 'cars'? Is this a unique experience of attachment shared by a common group of people wherein audi has 'struck a nerve' or would we find this on other car discussion groups. I think not, but I'm curious. Guess I'll have to poke around other 'distinct' vehicle discussion groups for my own independant research.

If you park your car on the streets of NYC like I do, you may find that it is not really in your best interests to keep your car looking immaculate. Kind of like wearing all your best jewelry on the subway.

One thing's for sure...I've seen six Vipers(once my dream car) in my area, and they didn't inspire at all. In fact, they were pretty underwhelming. After seeing the TT in person, I now know that no mere picture can do this car justice.
