I am planning a driving vacation and was thinking of hitting the famed Apache Trails just east of Phoenix.

Can the A4 do this drive? According to my Internet research, some of the roads aren't paved and the drive is somewhat adventurous. I have the sports package so the car is low to the ground. I'd hate to hit something and get stuck by a ghost town!

Any advice? Has anyone driven this drive with their A4.

TIA.

The Apache Trail can be traveled by car, but much of the scenic part is gravel and I wouldn't recommend taking your A4 on it -- unless you don't mind pitted paint.

If you want do the Apache Trail, rent a car for the day. There is a lot of traffic, including trucks & suvs towing boats to the Apache Resevoir area and they throw rocks and gravel like crazy.

Thanks. I will definitely rent a car and leave my A4 unblemished (for now)!
