I went to take off out of a side street yesterday. I let out the clutch and gave it gas but the car just crept forward, the engine revved and I could smell the burnt clutch. The same thing happened in 2nd but I pushed the pedal in and out and that seemed to fix it? It was as if the clutch only slighly engaged even though the pedal was out.

Could there be a problem with the clutch master cylinder?
