Anyone have any info on the number of S8 (D2) that were produced and in particular how many right hand drive models were made??

The total production numbers are difficult to find for some reason, but I have a good idea about U.S. import numbers. 2001 had the most cars imported into the U.S., about 2,200. 2002 about 1,800 and 2003 about 230. I may be off a little, but fairly close to the mark.

I seem to recall someone posting in another forum that they had contacted Audi and was told that 531 S8s were imported in 2001.

Around 1250 total S8s in US from MY '01, '02, and '03. 2003 fewest with a total of 300, with 100 Ming blue/platinum, 100 Avus silver/burgundy, 100 black/caramel.

I emailed Audi as to total production numbers in 2002...gave them my VIN. Instead of replying with the total they just gave my the numbers in my color combo...oh well I'll try again.

Silver is normaly the most popular of colors, and I'm driving an Irish Green over tan '02 S8. No wonder I've never seen another green S8 on the road!

total production numbers are hard to obtain, Audi just gave the numbers on the color combo (w/c is usually silver or gray) better search google for those, good luck!

2002 - 482 total for US

Optioned like mine, Silver, Grey interior w/ Luxury Seat option in place of Sport Seats - exactly 1 (sweet).

I got the info after being transferred to the "Flagship Team" from the regular customer service folks. Evidently owning a used S8 makes you a "Flagship" customer to Audi.

Not at my MI local dealership. Get the same crappy service if it's a VW, Toyota, Volvo or Audi.

Audi made around 105,000 D2 models in total, there are 550 D2 S8 models currently taxed/insured and running in the UK.
