I didn't realize just how much cash prospective S4 owners actually made. Wow! What am I doing wrong?

Well, I guess I am only 25, so I have some time to catch up.

Income survey thread

...I guess I better not plan on an S4 anytime soon (although I'm really tempted). If I did buy one I'd probably have to sleep in it ;-)

29 and not making nearly as much as those guys over on the S4 forum...

that is still legal, and allows to to sleep at night. Maybe that's why I only drive an A4 (although I suspect I'm just a middle aged cheap skate).

The trick is to have your own business pay for it! I still work a full time job while working a part-time business. My business pays for my A6 now(I used to have a '96 A4-2.8LQ). It's fairly simple and I can teach anybody to do the same thing. Got my email if anyone's interested how.

$30K now, doubles every 7 yrs at 10%, so think about what $120K will mean to you in 20 yrs!

I make $110K/yr in the software business, 45 yo, and ride a bicycle to work, and drive an 89 Jetta. I think the A4/S4 are beatiful, but will fanisize about them through the forum, and keep saving for retirement...

Become an independent computer consultant. Billing rates for even the mediocre are $45-$65/hr and those who are good at marketing themselves, or have hot niche skills, can bill $100-$200/hr.

Plenty of risk in going independent, but the rates do make up for it.

and I'm a living proof of it :-) A4 has plenty enough power for civilized folks, and more environmentally correct too. so stop envying and be proud a4ers, folks.

It really splits my sides with laughter that there are so many "losers" who purchase a car, like the A4, that they cannot afford. Let's just say that you purchased a 1.8T Auto Quattro for $35K (taxes and finance charges included) out the door. Unless you personally earn at least $75K a year, you have no business even looking at a car in this price range. Stick to your Taurus, Mustangs, and Golfs, and stop giving higher-class owners a bad name by driving the same cars they do. Stop being a poseur, and act like the lower caliber of person that you are.

Me uncvilized!
VRROOOM! VRRROOOOM!
ME GO FAST!

If you really cared about the environment you'd have a car that got better than 25 miles per gallon. Not to mention that $25k for a car isn't exactly cheap. Go buy a used entry level Honda Civic, Geo Metro, or Saturn SL and I'll be impressed by your economic restraint and devotion to the environment.

All a car needs to do is reliably get you from point A to point B. Some of the cars above can be had new for under ten thousand and they all get 35 miles per gallon or better.

So tell me again how that A4 is cheap and environmentally friendly. Oh wait, you just said it was a smarter buy...not a smart buy.

You my man are, for lack of a better word, pathetic. You need to reinforce your idea of your own self worth through a car?!! Whats more is that this is such a soft point you can't stand the idea of anyone else driving a car as nice as yours? Money is only wasted if the SPENDER regrets spending it, it's not your place to tell people how they should or should not spend the money THEY earn... I throw my head back and laugh in mock pity HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I still have my integra that gets 35 mpg too, and i rotate them equally. and for those who can't afford s4, which is what this thread was about, it's called "on the bright side" comment. Now, time for you to go back to your cave...
