Does anyone know if the PIAA superwhites will work in a stock A4? I find the stock headlights a little dim, especially for driving the twisties at night. However, I'm not interested in investing in xenon gas assemblies. Will get them on next car. Also, can anyone tell me if they create that silly "blue" light seen on so many "supped up Hondas, Acuras, Jettas, etc. I do not want to imitate gas discharge headlights. Just get better, brighter lighting and I've seen advertisements for the superwhites. Thanks.

I do have PIAA SuperWhite bulbs and they do output a whiter light than normal bulbs and they don't look anything like those cheap "blue" bulbs. However, IMHO they aren't worth the money as they don't really seem any more powerful than a normal bulb. The only real difference is the "whiteness" of the light which is nice but not worth the big $$$. BTW, PIAA does not yet sell the SuperWhite bulbs in the H7 or H1 bulb configuration you'll need for your OEM headlights....I have Valeo European lights in my A4 and they utilize H4 bulbs.

Before you spend the money on any bulb, I'd suggest reading some of the excellent info over on the Stern Lighting website.

....the proprietor of that website, he recommended Osram Super H4 bulbs (this info does you no good, unless they sell the same bulb in H1 and H7). He sells the H4 one for $16 each...not sure where else you can get your hands on them. I'm going to try Pep Boys if Daniel doesn't respond to my inquiry about purchasing them from him.

They are not blue whatsoever. These are Xenon filled 55W bulbs that will give you whiter and little brighter light. For the price I like them. I had them for about 3 weeks now. Others had them for 5+ mo. They are on special at www.puma-access.com.

www.puma-access.com

1. Did you stick them in your low beams only?

2. Do you have a 99.5? If so, did you stick them in the separate fogs too?

I would assume that you would want them in both the fogs and low beams.

what is the type of bulb needed H7? H1?

did you replace the fog lamp bulb as well? if so, what is that bulb, H1?

Someone on this board said all the bulbs in the 99.5s are H7s. The fogs, the lows and highs.

I bought the jahn superblue's for my fog lights in my 98.5 (H1 Bulb) and they look great. seem to be whiter and they definately show a greater visibility area to the left and right of the normal low beam pattern in the night. and at 10$ a bulb what can beat that? i only bought the H1's to see the quality and to test how long they would last. I will be ordering the h7's soon.

Then I liked them so got H7s for the high. Then I realized that I want them for the fogs, so I got H1s for it plus H4s for my scirocco...
