Does anybody know the part #'s to order an OEM sport suspension? (local dealer does not carry these items). I want to replace the non-sport suspension but do not want an excessive drop in the car, I think the OEM sport is just 3/4" lower than the non-sport, right?
Besides the springs and struts, do I also have to change stabilizer bars?
Thank for your help

The OEM "sport" suspension is 20mm lower than stock which works out to approx. 3/4" lower. The stock shocks are BOGE units and the "sport" shocks are also BOGE but the "Turbo-Gas" model (so I've read). I'm afraid I don't know the part numbers for the springs or shocks as I bought them used through the A4.org classifieds.
Keep in mind that the rear suspension is different on Quattro versus front-wheel drive A4's. I'm not sure if your stock FWD A4 includes a rear swaybar (I believe the "Sport" package FWD model does). The part numbers I've listed below are for a 1.8T with Quattro...not sure if they'll be the same for a FWD model.

You don't *have* to, but the swaybars are different from "stock" suspension to "Sport" suspension. My original front sway bar was hollow and approx. 29mm while the "sport" one I bought was the same diameter but solid. My original rear sway bar appeared to be solid and approx. 12mm in diameter while the "sport" one I bought was also solid but 16mm in diameter.
1) "Sport" front sway bar; Part # 8D0 411 309L; Cost $132.56
2) "Sport" rear sway bar; Part # 8D0 511 409; Cost $87.55
3) Bushings for front sway bar; Part # 4D0 411 327H; Cost $17.85 ea. (2 needed)
4) Bushings for rear sway bar; Part # xxx xxx xxxx; Cost $5.56 ea. (2 needed)
These prices were from Clair Parts Express about 5 months back.
I hope this helps.

I bought my '97 used and the previous owner had put in the sport sway bars from a '98. He also got the sport springs but not shocks. The sway bars are on but the springs are in a box.
I've seen '97 sport suspensions (springs/shocks) for sale in the Classifieds but I didn't think
that there was a sport suspension in '97.

The Sport package on the 1997 1.8T's included:
1) Sport Seats covered in Jacquard Satin cloth
2) 3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel
3) 16" 5-Spoke Alloys with 205-55-16 all-season tires.
There were no suspension modifications unlike newer A4's.
So if someone is selling "Sport" springs & shocks from a 1997 A4, they are misrepresenting the parts because they're really the equivalent of normal "stock" springs/shocks on newer A4's.

I would say that those posted in the classifieds are suspect....buyer beware.
The '97 sport package was only avaiable for the 1.8T and it included:
- 16 in. 5-spoke wheels with all-season tires (RS-A's on mine)
- Sport steering wheel
- Sport seats with Jaquard Satin fabric

...unless you can find a set used (low miles) in the classifieds, I don't think I'd spend much for the BOGE shocks...they're crap IMHO. You'd be better off purchasing a set of Bilstein shocks.
