So all I have to do is cut the green, grey, white, and yellow wire, and connect each of them to a RCA lead. There is nothing to be worry about on the amp, right? What do you mean bt piggy back the brown wire, execuse my limited knowledge about the term. And what does the loop isolator looks like? Where do you wire them? Sorry, I'm kinda stupid, and I don't have much experience on this. I tried like the whole day yesterday but didn't achive anything. BTW is it possible to wire the power will work like the stock head unit? what I meant is that you can turn on the head unit without turnning the key to ignition position, and it will shut off after an hour.
Thank you very much
I really appreciate it..
KevinL

1/ Posted by OPTION-3 on March 09, 1998 at 13:44:57, a diagram of the pin-outs on the delta wiring. Search the archives under "diagram"
2/ I also have factory diagrams if u need, email me, i can scan next day.
3/ The key off convience function is a function of the tape deck, not the audi wiring. U still only have +12V and accessory available, same as on any other car
hope this helps
1996 A4 2.8 QM (delta/concert, 8disk player)
Yes, there is nothing to worry about on the amp, if you wire it correctly. By "piggy-back", I mean you have to splice the brown wire (common) into four wires so that you have a negative on each of the RCA plugs. The ground loop isolators (AKA noise filters) look like a set of RCA wires, with a block in the middle. They plug inline with the RCA's, if you go to Fry's or any local stereo shop, they should know what you're talking about. Just be sure you get the RCA noice filter, not ones that go inline to the speakers..
Also, Randall is correct in saying that the on/off feature is that of the radio, not the wiring..
E-mail me if you need any more help/advice.
Jason
I called Thule to double check that it was OK to fit one of their roof cargo boxes to my Avant with Audi (Votex) factory crossbars. They told me it was NOT OK. I asked why. The guy said that in their testing the Audi crossbars had catastrophically separated from the long silver rails!
I questioned how that was possible, since the mounting system seems excellent to me and the crossbars themselves seem extremely strong. He insisted that it was true. I asked if I could get more details about their test and the exact mechanics of the failure they observed, but he said they would not give out that type of information.
At first I suspected that Thule is just trying to sell their own crossbars (he said it would be safe with their 50" bars). But I also asked about cargo box fitment to another car, and for that vehicle he said Yakima crossbars would be fine. So I don't know.
Audi offers its own long cargo box (very expensive), which apparently doesn't fly off the cars! And I still can't quite believe a properly installed set of Audi crossbars could actually leave the car. But in the absence of details about what they say happened in their tests, who knows?
Any thoughts?

Interesting comments... We haven't heard of any problems on the Audi racks at all, I actually have them on my Avant. However, I'll pass the information on to Audi.

I live near NYC (Rockland county). But, my twin brother lives about 2 blocks away from Honolulu Ave (lives on La Crescenta ave.) If i remember right, there used to be Bob's Big Boy restaurant there. Here i am, looking at 2 150 ft. tall trees completely out of the ground (thanks Floyd). Both trees decided to drop in on the side of my roof, thankfully, my wife and i are both safe (although a little shook up). All my brother can say is "surf's up".. I've always enjoyed my visits to the socal area. al.................
