to review a creak/rattle at 950 rpm.

1. the cam tensioners. no

2. I guess it not the cam sensor

3. Its not the ECM. Brand new one did nadda.

so when the cam sensor is unplugged it does not make the creaking. When it is plugged in there is a noise. Could it be a wiring harness ? I dont see why it couldnt be the sensor but I dont think they tried replacing that.

I really just want my car back so I can leave. I woulder if i should take it and bring it somewheres else.

These guys seem like they are driving into the same dead end over and over.

and that's what fixed the same problem on a 4.2 A6. Mine has done it now for 40k miles so it's not fatal but annoying. Feel free to email offline to compare notes.

it seems to me like the people who DESIGN these cars are VERY educated people who design exceptionally intricate cars, whereas the people who actually SERVICE these same technical masterpieces have NO F**KING CLUE how to actually repair them. These arent 72 Fords...I dont want a 72 Ford mechanic working on mine. I feel like whenever you take it to an "authorized Audi Dealer" you get some kid working on it where you need to PRINT OUT and BIND the entire audipages.com website for them to keep at their shop just so they know where to look!!!! Anyway, sorry for the vent...but i am mentally preparing myself for monday morning when i have to take my 98 in for a vibration check and some warranty work (hopefully).
