The OEM setup had a yellow sidemarker with a clear bulb behind it. I assume that your new setup is clear or smoked sidemarkers. The new bulbs should be yellow so that when you use your turn signals, the resulting flash still looks yellow, even though the sidemarkers are no longer yellow.
As you know, "yellow" is the color for "caution". These sidemarkers should blink in yellow and that happens either through a yellow lens, or a yellow bulb.
