Thanks for your responce to my previous pos. Spoke to Asst Mgr who confirmed there is in fact a valet key for my 2001 A8L. I was told that in addition to the cost of the key there is a $75 programming fee. Is this a normal amount or are they overcharging?

You have the immobilizer, and you will need to bring ALL keys to the stealer when you do this. If you don't have two regular keys, now is the time to bite the bullet and buy that second one.

But they have the codes to do it, if you get a new one cut and not programmed, it won't work.

That's why they call them the stealer. I would think a $40 charge would be more in line, can't take them more than 20 minutes total.

BTW , why do you need the valet key? its almost same price as a regular key

I don't valet too often but when I do, it's good to know nobody can get into the glove box and take my H & K. After all this is LA
