i really liked the wood steering wheel on my father's 2000 Lexus LS.

Try contacting American Stitches-- they are near Dallas, TX and do magical things with steering wheels, including wood inserts. They will take your wheel and in a few days send it back with wood inserts. I'd go for the top and bottom treatment-- but at least the top portion of the wheel.

I have avoided buying some vehicles because of wood on the steering wheel.
