It's snowing from Pittsburgh to Chicago. It'll be an interesting 500 miles drive.

Here in sunny Encinitas California it's about 70 in the daytime. A few weeks back we got some good rain storms... My wife thought I'd lost it because I was so excited at how well the quattro performed in weather I suggested we move somewhere with a lousier climate to make driving such fun more frequently... That idea has been dismissed. Off to the beach!

Take the southerly route.

Fortunately, my SIL is 3-4 hours ahead of us. They've made reservations at the Opryland Hotel, so maybe we'll end up there for the night, and get into KY Friday. Maybe they'll have cleared the interstates some by then.

it's very dangerous. Be careful and enjoy your white Christmas! I have around 14" of white fluffy stuff at my house now (west of Denver), but it is champagne powder not slush.

it's the other idiots on the road that can ruin your day or worse! Take care, dirve within your capabilities, and most importantly watch out for the morons! Let's all hope for a safe holiday travel season for everyone on this forum and their loved ones!

now it is all rain. A very cold front is supposed to come in this afternoon. That'll trigger lake effect snows off of Lake Erie.

The wet/slushy stuff is the worst to drive in. Extremely slippery. I'm glad I have quattro. The Dunlop M3s help too.

Best thing with quattro, if you're going into a corner that is slippery, and you feel your front end sliding--turn the wheel and give it gas. She pulls right through! ESP kicks in....lol.
