I am wrestling with the consequences of backing up too far into a parking garage guardrail while backing in... The paint isn't off but the clearcoat is fairly scraped all along the crown ridge on the back bumper. Totally visible. Totally disheartening. Will polishing compound work on this? As I said the paint isnt damaged underneath.
Suggestions greatly appreciated.

I watched it take 2-day old graffiti off of my friend's finish, as well as completely eliminate those small fingernail marks underneath the doorhandles of my A4. Just a suggestion.

...I need to do something to start keeping the various boards straight in my head. Heheh. I guess maybe it's the new look that confused me.
Who makes GS-27 and where does one get it?

it is gone. I had a minor bumperbender, and few weeks later at the pressure wash the clearcoat started to peel off. So do not use pressure wash unless you fix your bumper.
If the paint is really ok, then you would be best off in the long run by having your bumper re-clear coated. I paid $325 for ther removal, paint and clearcoat of the front bumper. If yours is not removed (mine had to be) and clearcoat only should be well under $200.
Good luck.
