Here's the before and after. I think it's a subtle but definite improvement. I think I'll replace the TT-style center caps, tho. I went with ContiExtremeContact tires in 245/45/18 size. (I have dreams of going to Tahoe some snowy day.) The ride is, I think, a little better than it was with the Goodyears.
Thank all of you for your offers to relieve me of my burdensome 18-in S8 wheels. Anyone want some 17-inch wheels and/or Goodyear tires?

Shoot me an e-mail and let me know the rim condition, tire condition and price. Polished?
Thanks! Stuart

I think I like the TT's center caps better than the S8's.

I live in Tahoe with an S8. Even with dedicated snows, driving an 8 here can be challenging. 5 inches of clearance just isn't enough on some days. Having to dig out a "high centered" A8/S8 is no fun. Sliding through a stop sign into on-coming traffic (due to less that optimal traction from allegedly "All Season" tires) is even less fun!

Offset and width. I wonder if they'd be winter wheels on my S6?
