Was wondering what kind of coolant does Audi use? Why is it pink? I thought coolant/anti-freeze was normally a greenish color? But anyways, my coolant level is right around the min level now and was wondering if it's alright to just fill it up with some "regular" anti-freeze/coolant or do you need to drain it first?? Also, I've put about 4200 miles on the car before the coolant needed filling... is this about normal? (Sorry for the clueless questions... it's my first car that I own exclusively...) Thanks for any help!!
I'd get some from the dealer, but I've been told NOT to mix the pink stuff w/ other coolant.

I had heard the same thing so I went to the dealer to buy some - hold on, they wanted about $17 a gallon!
Get the Autobahn brand of antifreeze that they use in VW. Same stuff... slightly lower price.
BTW, there are 2 different grades, as I was told by a VW tech.. The pink is for high temp use (summer) and the dark color (blue, perhaps?) is for low temp (winter) use.
Get the same stuff/color as you have in it rightnow.

It's not cheap but considering the price of an engine it's inexpensive insurance.
