My friend at SC just sold his '97 Audi A4 1.8T back to the dealership and purchased an A6. Before the dealership took the car though, they smog tested it and he failed. He had a MTM chip. Uh-oh!

My '97 1.8TQMS with Hoppen chip has been emissions tested twice (yearly inspection is required to renew registration), and passed easily each time, producing ULEV levels of emissions.
