My wife and I spent a few months researching cars over the internet and at dealerships. Thank you, net community for all of the helpful advice.
When we saw the satisfied stories about carorder.com we thought 'too good to be true,' but also 'worth a try'. The worst stories we read were complaints about slow delivery or getting the run-around when trying to pin down delivery dates. We felt that we could stand this, given that our need for a new car is not desperate. Finally, given the few stories about people being compensated with a 2000 model if a 99 model cant be found, the dwindling supply of 99s, and the production scarcity of silver 1.8Ts without sunroof or quattro (is this sacrilege? we are frugal and commuters in sunny CA) I decided to ive it a whirl.
We agree with the consensus here that the A4 is a beautiful car that's safe, reliable, and fun to drive. I'll let you know if I can also say that CarOrder lives up to the hype.
Happy Motoring
