I had a spoiler with 3rd brake light installed when I got my '99.5. The dealer didn't disable my existing 3rd brakelight on the inside deck of the car. I tried pulling out the wiring clip, trip computer beeped at me and gave a "Brake light"
error, I pulled out all four bulbs, same error.
I really want to disable this, because the back of the car looks so much better during braking with only the spoiler 3rd brake light lit.

Can anyone help me with this, or do I have to wait until I go in for 5000k service and ask the dealer? Thanks!

I'm not looking at the 3rd light config. right this moment but one solution albeit a sloppy one would be to connect the wiring to some lamps in the trunk. That would provide the "load" that the computer wants.
Good luck.

Maybe if your disconnect the computer or battery and reconnect, it will re-calibrate the computer fo rthe load.. I think people did this when changing from '97 to 98.5 tail lights..
