View Full Version : Anybody know what it takes to start an Audi dealership, besides money? Lets say you have a very knoweledgeable sales staff like April. They know there stuff and know how to give a real test ride. After your expert sales staff gives them the royal treatment the customer informs them that they can get the same car for $500 less than your offering at the dealer 50-100 miles away. After all $500 buys a lot of gas even at these prices. You know the dealer the customer is talking about is a dog and will do anything to move some tail lights and thier service department never does a new car prep but bills Audi for the work any way. (extra profit) How are you planning to convince someone that they should pay $1500 over invoice at your dealership instead of $1000 over invoice at another dealership 50-100 miles away. Maybe you could hire April to be your general manager. Or, maybe you hire her to be your consultant to your sale department. (Give her a new Audi of her choice every year) How are you going to handle those chipped Audis that come in for turbo repair? Audi says no warranty and your service manager has to tell the customer. Audi gets a nasty letter but your dealerships gets the bad reputation for not being service friendly. Moral of this story is the car business is one of the hardest business to own and operate. You have to deal with the public that worship their cars and the governmental agencies and their rules. Unless you can find the right people to TRUST and have deep pockets buyer beware. Just a little .02:>) April 07-07-2001, 05:58 PM C2 07-07-2001, 06:36 PM I appreciate the information you have some valid points. |
