Hi everyone:
Since the vwvortex forums was down for a couple of days, I have to ask this question here in a4.org.
My Jetta IV's windshield got rock-chipping few days ago in a rainy weather. I went to claim the windshield at the local claim center the next day (we don't have to make an appointment for a windshield claim). They told me the windshield has to replaced because of the cracking in front of driver's seat instead of a small injection fix.
I brought my car into one of the most reputable glass company here in GVRD. The next day they replaced an aftermarket windshield which doesn't feel right until the evening, when some edge areas have gap. I brought my car in for told the guy to replace the OEM VW glass for my car. As I waited 2 hours, they finally replaced an OEM VW Jetta windshield.
Question iS: does the insurance company require the glass company put on the aftermarket glass instead of OEM one?
