Where can I get the latest version software for the VW-Tool?

If you go to 'software updates', you can get
the software. (!?). However, if you ask them
how much the cable is, they'll tell you
it's $800. If you have the cable already,
you're set. Wish I could get specs on the cable
/connector, I'd build my own.

Now, which is the best to get, the VAG1552 or the "CS2000", or is there another option for those with a laptop? How much $$ for these products?

The specs are public, however, it's not just a jumper cable, it's a protocol converter; gotta have smarts in the cable!
