I was looking at Pirelli P7000 Super Sport All-Season at Tire Rack. What sizes would work so that it doesn't change the tire size, the wider the better.
Here are the sizes:
225/45ZR17
235/40ZR17
235/45WR17
245/45WR17
255/40WR17
265/40ZR17
275/40WR17
I believe the stock size is 225/55 17 and the rim is 8". How big can I put and which one has the smallest error?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli/pi_p7000.htm</a

being Very noisy. There are a few on here with Dunlop SP9000s. I think Bart Lane has SP9000s, don't you Bart? A very nice performing tire and quiet too.

Not sure what you mean by which one would not change the tire size. If you mean would have the same circumference as a 225/55/17, I am not sure if there is a formula for that. There may be. Anyone know? In any event it is my understanding that a tire that is wider than the rim may be going in the wrong direction. It is my understanding that it is better for the tire width to be slightly smaller than the rim. I believe the idea is that the tire will roll over less in heavy cornering under this set up. Also you get more bite out of the side tread in this situation. Another thing to consider is the bigger the patch the more water you need to dispalce to prevent hydroplaning.
I am driving on the Michelin Pilot XGT which is available in an exact size match for the stock 17" tire. I have mine on the Ronal 17" R-28 which is slightly wider than the stock rim. I have been through one winter and plenty of rain with no complaints. And certinly no complaints about the way they run dry. I think if I wanted more traction I would need to go to an 18" rim.
Hope this helps.
MICHELIN PILOT XGT Z4 RBL... They are really good.

Hi Charles,
I've read your posts here. Interesting. What happened to the S8? All you are talking about is an A8. Did you sell the S8? I'll do the a dejanews search (Charles A. Ambrosecchia), but I know you had one...you said so. I'll look.
BTW, I was looking over some of your past posts in alt.autos.corvette and Steve's, and am still impressed at your F1 driving stints, 200 MPH street rides, and both F-40 & F-50 Ferrari's. Keep up the stellar reporting and keep the stories coming. I always enjoy a good read.
You are quite a guy. You are the same Charles A. Ambrosecchia that posted the above statements, aren't you? If you are...I was wondering if that C5 supercharger you designed was patented or if the Callaway C5 is still around.
See you later......Sparky

Yes. Give this one a try. You can enter the size and it will calculate the rest for you.
Good reply, poser. S8 hahaha...and now you admit it's an A8 after all the BS.
Your 'vette faster than Bart Lane's..think again poser...yours is stock (unless you count the BS stories)
Loser.

Yeah, but Charles, you are the most famous liar of all time. That has to feel good. As everyone can see by looking up your past, you are the worlds biggest liar. Your wife's dad will want them back anyway when the lease is up. Sure, the BMW M5 is a great car and I would have loved to have one, in which case I would be on the BMW group as you can't seem to grasp. But they are unavailable. The 5 is a nice looking car, the 7 is fat, ugly, and old looking. I suck? Maybe, but you are the world's biggest and greatest liar and everybody on the Net knows this. Hell, they can search you out on Deja and see that. See you Liar.

Hey did you see what Bimmer Magazine, a magazine dedicated to BMW's by the way, had to say when comparing the two?
.....the Audi is a truly alluring car that inspires us in a way that BMW simply can't.
....., we just didn't look forward to driving the 740 as much as we did the A8.
The BMW ..... feels like a rather ordinary big car most of the time.
The Audi, however, makes driving a special event every time you turn the key.
Driving the BMW is like dancing with a fat man....

*******... leave my wife's dad alone. He died when she was 7 and she basically lived alone since 16. Why don't you share the fact that you live in your girlfriend's son's house.
Moron, you go out and buy and A8 yet you can't afford a house.
I am 100% self made and I am 200% proud of that.
You are an idiot that needs to hype everything he has. Out of your 100s of poste in the Vette NG 99% were self serving hype.
You did the same with your A8. What an accomplishment. At your age you should be way up and not living off a stranger and buying an A8.
All said.
