Hi guys!

I'm currently considering trading in my S4 -94 for an A8, probably a -95 or -96 4.2 Quattro. Are there any known problems to look out especially with the 95:s? I assume most of the early production gremlins should be sorted out by 96 or so. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Stefan

The all Aluminum body I have read requires special training and knowledge to repair.

Yes, you're definately right about that. I might have overemphasized the vintage part a little bit.
The car I'm looking for has to be in excellent condition but I will probably have to settle for a 96-97 though. I thought there might be a few known early production problems I should be aware of. Just like the swaybar bushing problem on the A4.

Stefan

The A8 had a really good start into life. The only problems were some steering gears leaking oil (replaced by waranty) and some car immobilizer problems (didn´t recognise the key). No Suspension or electrical problems...

The BMW 7-Series and even the new S-Class had much more starting problems than the A8...
