I was at the dealer today bringing my car in for service. I was admiring a beautifull A6 4.2.
I couldn't help think why would someone drop the extra 30K for the A8?
Any insight?

You get a bigger car with no weight penalty thus the same performance as an A6 4.2.

The base MSRP prices are $62,000 for the A8 4.2, and $48,900 for the A6 4.2. The A8 includes rear side airbags as standard equipment. So no matter how you slice it, the price difference is not even half of what you are claiming. The A8 is much more luxurious inside. I also think it looks much better on the outside.
