View Full Version : Did anyone ever figure out if the S8 in Ronin was a manual or automatic? KGB 08-23-1999, 06:55 AM Ronin 08-23-1999, 07:35 AM Cameron 08-23-1999, 07:35 AM In the scene where they are in the parking lot (It's All A Waiting Game -- if you have the DVD version and want a segment location), they show the dash of the car. I forget if they ever pan or go out far enough for you to see the glow from a tiptronic gate. Which transmissions are available? Borg/Warner T-56 6-Speed? ZF 5HPRK 5-speed Tiptronic? Seem like the two most logical choices at first glance... Cameron AndrewT 08-23-1999, 07:09 PM In Ronin, two S8's were used. One is a Tiptronic, and was the one driven in the scences where the actors drove, like when they were buying guns, whatever. Another is a six-speed, where the stunt drivers drove it, like in the big-chase scene with the Citroens, the part when they were running from the cops, etc. etc. -andrewt Proficient in useless trivia

My Waste of Web Space

Chris 08-24-1999, 03:42 PM Did you know that in the chase scene through the tunnel it was actually a Formula 1 driver (don't know who) driving the car, and the steering wheel was attached to the dummy one being driven by that Irish girl. Too bad it was so expensive to keep fixing... Oh well... Enjoy! Bill Mills 10-12-1999, 04:36 PM There is an option to listen to running commentary by the films director as opposed to the movie track. He makes some comments about the S8 as well as some of the other "hero cars" in the movie. |
