One of the two oem remotes died this weekend. I replaced the batteries to no avail. The remote worked fine (unlocked/locked on first press) prior to dying. The dealer said that it probably needs to be "reprogrammed" and I need to bring all four keys in and leave the car for at least a few hours - great....
Anyone have similar problem? What would cause this?
Chris

Supposedly the remotes do have to be reprogrammed after changing the batteries. The procedure for doing this is in the FAQ. However, I was unable to get it to work. At some point during the reprogramming, the alarm beeps. I got the beep, but when I was finished, the one remote still didn't work. The dealer ended up replacing both.
Kyle
PS. If the procedure in the FAQ is correct, it should only take your dealer 5 minutes.

Got the latest issue of C&D in the mail today, and they had a bunch of letters in response to the A4-328i comparison from a few months ago. I don't know if they were written by anyone from this board, but they were all well written and pro-Audi. Most were praising the real world attributes (Quattro, lower price) that the A4 has over the 328.
Tom Halter
98.5 2.8 QM Pearl/Onyx
