...i thought i'd post my removal, cleaning, and reinstallation results using Kris' Tech Article. My blower wasn't particularly unruly, just old. With my car approaching double digits i figured it couldn't hurt to free up some of the buildup in there and grease it up a bit, banking on some nastiness having accumulated over the years.
And, let there be gunk:

Thats all that came out of the motor after tapping it with a hammer and shaking it like nobody's business. I also blew into it with a compressor, which i would recommend, as it freed up a whole cloud of dust and other loveliness.
I simply removed the blower as instructed in the writeup, and squeezed off a little plastic piece to reveal this hole through which i later sprayed some electrical parts cleaner and some lube:

By the way, that little plastic piece sitting on the newspaper is the part i'm referring to that i popped off. After reinstallation it's been operating pretty much flawlessly, and i'd definately recommend cleaning it out if you have the time.
