View Full Version : A4 Trunk Net PT 01-07-1999, 12:44 PM Can't find info. in FAQ or Archives...
Anybody know where to buy the cargo net for the A4 trunk (other than through an Audi dealer?)
Thanks. DavidG 01-07-1999, 12:53 PM I bought the Mercedes M-Class net that they sell as a less expensive equivalent to the Audi net. Clips onto each of the 4 chromed D-rings using sturdy plastic clips that won't scratch and stretches across the trunk floor. Andy Hedin 01-07-1999, 12:56 PM Info pullled from the archives (originally posted by Steve S.):
"Jeff, I am one of the ones that had mentioned that the Jeep cargo net works pretty good. The part # is (82201486). My local Jeep dealer charged me $52.97 plus $4.37 tax, for $57.34 total. This is much better than the $80-90 quoted by the Audi dealer."

DavidG 01-07-1999, 01:07 PM Steve S. 01-07-1999, 01:56 PM IMHO, the Mercedes one does not cut it for me...first, it has no drawstring...so you cannot tighten it. Hence, the contents under the net cannot be secured as well as the Jeep or OEM Audi one. It also is TOO big. Just one more data point for everyone.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
P.S. Andy...good archive retrieval effort :-)
Jeff 01-07-1999, 02:05 PM Got a great solution....go to a Yakima dealer and get one of their nets with hooks....it turns out to be too big...but it is "adjustable" and I have been using it for about 2 years without a problem. It was about 15$ at my local bike/outdoors shop.
Jeff MarkG 01-07-1999, 02:15 PM I have the Mercedes one. I'd buy the Jeep one if I had to do it again. The Mercedes one doesn't hold things down tight enough. I ended up wraping the elastic around the hooks a couple of times which helps some.
Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS) Corey S 01-07-1999, 02:29 PM f Leni 01-07-1999, 03:59 PM GlennB 01-07-1999, 04:39 PM Before Xmas I dropped a not so subtle hint to my wife that the Jeep cargo net would fit my new A4, so she orders one. The only problem was that it was a *vertical* net that separates the cargo and passenger area. I ordered the correct one today by the part number that I unearthed in the archives yesterday. GlennB 01-07-1999, 04:47 PM I had an old net from a '89 Taurus I once owned, and it snapped right in place. It is longer on one side, so I tied a knot in that side to shorten it up. It will do until my new Jeep new comes in Saturday. FS 01-07-1999, 05:07 PM |
