Its a Clifford Intelliguard...it works "on top" as in it controls the factory alarm.<p>When the turbo timer is not in use, arming the Clifford arms the factory alarm as well. When the timer IS in use, only the Clifford will arm since the factory can't arm when the engine is running. Not sure how they wired it cuz i didn't personally install it. Hope that clears things up a little.<p>About the door chime - yes that does work, and i did use it for awhile before i got the timer, but you still have to sit there and wait. With the timer, you take out your key, arm the car and leave - the timer will run for as long as it's preset and turn off the car for you. =) Convenient.<p>HTH =)<p>-steve<br>98.5 1.8tqm
