Hi all! [Especially those who also purchased the shade! ;-)]
I just received my shipment of the rear sunshade from Clair's and have an installation question.
The instructions show only pictures and do not have any text, so I need some clarification...
How does the rear deck cover come off? I've tried playing with the retaining clips (3 in all) but to no avail.
Also, how do the side pillar covers come off? (The pillar covers with the rear reading lights in pre-99.5s).

The rear deck just needs to be lifted up and it will come of right away.. The C pilar panels can be removed by pulling on them also.. They are held on by clips inside, it takes a little effort to remove them.

I ordered mine from Clair but it's not an "Audi Genuine part". I recently ordered an OEM version from Bellavia. I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the one from Clair.
Clair's part is $36...Bellavia is $40.95.
As far as fitment, it should fit any year considering that Audi hasn't changed the rear window.

out of fear of breaking them. I'll be careful and try again. But if you read my response to the below post, I am returning the Clair part for an OEM version from Bellavia.

I got back from Greece a couple of days ago and noticed that many of the cars there had a rear sunshade. Many (most) drove their cars with the shade up at all times, even at night.

I'm not getting the Tecnomagnesio's anymore.. I was told that they are not making them in magnesium anymore.. Damn! I am eying a set of 3 piece wheels though...
