Hey all,
I currently have a 95 Acura GSR Sedan with some mods, click link to see setup DFH~Decal Free Homepage
For my next car I definitely want All wheel drive, and at the top of my list is the A4 quattro. My friend's sister has a fwd model which I drove, and the quality and feel were outstanding. I know that with just a chip I can add about 40 HP. If I were to make moderate performance enhancements: Chip, intake, exhaust, susp etc., what kind of HP can I make (to the wheels) and what kind of perf: 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Any input is appreciated.
Take care,
FB

Not that I'm into drag racing or anything, but it gives me something to compare to. AWD launches must be fun >8^)
Take care,
FB
I am not much into 1/4 or 0-60. I prefer road racing and roll starts. If you want explicit numbers this issue has been beat to death in the archives. Check with the different tuners: www.hoppenmotorsport.com, www.greedspeed.com, www.tap1.com, www.chip-tuning.com, www.sportwheels.com,etc etc etc etc
You weigh a car's performance via torque not HP.
There are also some locals depending upon where you live.

C'mon now, let's not be short sighted. Anything can be made fast if enough money is put into modifications. Several companies out there produce turbo kits for the Integra that easily make 270 hp for a few thousand. Have a look at all those guys who take the 1.8L integra motors, shoehorn them into civics/CRX's, turbo them to 400+ hp and do 10 second 1/4 miles :)
Brad Franklin

My A4 does not have a chip (yet), but I can remember some 0-60 times off the top of my head. If I remember correctly, Wett chips (1.0 bar) gave about 6.4-6.6s runs, and
Neuspeed/Hoppen/TAP chips (0.8 bar) gave about 6.9s runs. Don't remember any quarter mile times....There was also an article in EC magazine that compared TAP, Neuspeed, Hoppen, and AMS chips....but their times were kinda wacky (****ty drivers?) in that they were not much lower than stock....(7.7 for example or something like that).
Cheers,
-Ash Silver 98.5 1.8TQMS
No modifications except a Hoppen chip, in 95 degree weather dropped the quarter mile time from a 16.4 to a 15.0.
60 ft times average to high 1.9's, low 2.0 with a chip. where a FWD 240hp A4 only squeezed a 2.3 60 ft.
I have a whole chart on Hoppen's website, in the news section.
Ned
