...Or is that because my car is North American compared to this european one? Other than that there's a crease in the rear bumper, and all else looks normal...

...I bet the new A4's will be able to pop the trunk open with the remote and perhaps from inside with a button. We won't have to push the button in on the trunk to open it. My guess...

If you ask AoA, they'll probably tell you that all the changes the changes are new to the '00 models, even though most of them have been on the '99.5 since February. The '00 models will finally get the rest of the updates that Europe has had since the begining of the year. Basically, the '00 model is the same as the '99.5 models with the exception of the in-dash CD and some other minor things.

I can't quite make out the badge. The wheels only have 9 spokes so they aren't the rumored 10 spoke sport wheels. So if these are stock wheels for the 2.8, bye bye legendary (but admittedly dated) 5 spokes. Or if they are stock for 1.8, WOW, much better than wanna be VW wheels. By the way, my dealer showed me a fax of a photocopy of the 10 spoke wheels which he said are for 2000 sport pkg and from which I was able to confirm that the wheels have 10 spokes and are fan like, but quality was terrible so I can't guess anymore.

The button inside and the remote open the lift gate and leave it just partialy latched so it won't open all the way if you are driving. I don't know if this is the way Avants have allways been or not.

Since we on a '00 string, will it have the mechanical and structural changes the Euro versions got in Feb? i.e. added crossmembers, revised shock settings , steering mods, improved brake cylinders, etc.

...because the new "Sport" package wheels are a 10-spoke design and the wheel in this pic is a 9-spoke design.

Perhaps it might replace the current 5-spoke design...I don't think anyone knows yet for sure.

Up until the 99.5 Avant, all the A4 sedans and Avants had a push-button lock on the rear. In order to open the trunk/hatch you had to physically push the button in with your thumb to release the latch. It would be impossible with this system to "pop" the hatch/trunk open with the remote. The new system doesn't require that you push an external button on the car to open it.
