There's no reason for your dealer not to service your car under warranty, chipped or not. Remember, however, that if you have an unusual powertrain failure with your car, Audi reserves the right to visit and analyze your car. Your dealer gets paid every day to maintain and service your car to the highest standards, but Audi won't pay him (thus you) if you smoke your motor/gearbox/clutch with a modified car. Be careful!
I've had problems with Loeber Motors in Chicago too:
1. They did not reset my service light.
2. They did not stamp my service book.
3. They washed my A4 even though I asked them not to (I was afraid of getting swirl marks because of an inexperienced car washer...I guess I'm not paranoid after all).
4. I provided Mobil 1 synthetic oil in a bunch of bottles including 1 already open one. Guess what, they did not use the already open one, so now I've got 2 open bottles of Mobil 1.
5. Finally, I noticed very unprofessional behavior when I was leaving. A woman picking up her older VW from service noticed that her front bumper was bent out of shape on the right side. It was bending down at about 30 degrees from its correct horizontal position. She called a service guy and told him that the bumper was in perfect shape when she dropped the car off. The service guy looked at it, then forced it back into its correct position by pulling up on it with his hands. It seemed to "snap in" and looked normal afterwards. She drove off. Maybe VW bumpers "snap" on and off and it was no big deal, but just the fact that they were returning a car that wasn't assembled properly (and maybe even damaged) shows lack of professionalism.
5. The atmosphere in the service department was very fast-paced. I like to get my car back quickly, but not only did this not happen, but it seemed that things are done so quickly that stuff gets overlooked. I understand that the dealer is very close to downtown Chicago and gets a lot of customers, but this should prompt them to expand and provide quality service, not cut corner by hurrying and performing incompetent work.
I would definitely AVOID Loeber Motors in downtown Chicago, IL for Audi service.
Alex

I had a bad experience with Schaumburg Audi/Suburu and don't recommend that dealer to anyone. I had an OK experience with McGrath Acura/Audi in Glenview.
I've had much better experience with a Toyota vehicle, I guess price of the vehicle doesn't always improve dealer service. Once they sell the car their job is done, or that's what you see with most dealers.
Brad Bilut 98.5 2.8 QA

My car is only at 6000 miles so I haven't had any service issues or reasons to bring it in, but when I've had minor things to be adjusted, the folks at McGrath have been wonderful and very helpful. I just drive right up and they're willing to stop and take a look at even the smallest things. I'll see what happens at the 7,500 mile mark when I bring it in. So far, so good!
