View Full Version : Audi Winter mats = Swimming pool?? Tony 12-07-1998, 04:03 PM David P 01-12-1999, 12:31 PM I'm rather dissappointed with my OEM front winter mats. The first day it snowed the ice melted to form a pool of water that just ran right off the mat onto the carpet. Now the whole carpet is soaked under and around the mat and won't seem to dry. I don't recall ever having the problem with carpet mats. Maybe I should buy a cheap set of winter carpet mats. This sucks! Ideas?
David CraigB 01-12-1999, 12:41 PM They are rubber, coated with some fuzzy carpet like substance. They have a lip around the back and sides, but the snow usually just melts and soaks into the fuzz; then it dries. I've been happy with them so far. I may just leaave them in year 'round. HTH.
CraigB knh 01-12-1999, 12:53 PM CraigB 01-12-1999, 12:55 PM Craig 01-12-1999, 12:58 PM I always tap my boots together as I am entering my car so most of the crud drops off onto the street, etc. No problem with the Audi winter mats. CraigB 01-12-1999, 01:02 PM Becker... 01-12-1999, 01:23 PM I also have the Audi winter mats, but I've had no such problems. Do you knock most of the snow off of your shoes before you get in the car? The only problem I have had is that the mats tend to shift on the passengers. Nolan S 01-12-1999, 02:28 PM I do not care for the bright colored "LLTek A4ms" logo on the front mats. Easy fix though, the logo is glued to the carpet surface. Take an exacto knife and carefully cut and lift the logo off. I left the "A4ms" portion of the logo on the mats. If one looks closely, you can tell where the logo was but it is inconspicuous. I did this operation back when I purchased them in August and now with the wear (mostly from repeated vacuuming) you really can't tell at all. randall 01-12-1999, 03:37 PM had the same set for 10 years (move them from car to car)
they have a trough in the middle that suchs up tonnes of water. Plus ridges so the water does not hit your pants (just like the commercial)
for winters in to, i have yet to see anything superior.

1996 a4 2.8 qm
Richard Martin in Snowy A@, MI 01-12-1999, 04:12 PM Open da do'
Sit cho' tail on da seet
keep feets ousite
Play like ewe be Dorothy trying to go home
But Click your feets togeter like a man.
Shed the snow, slush and put your feet inside
shut da do' 'n go.
