If you happen to know of any (for sale), please let me know. It appears that this car is almost
as rare as an S6 Avant! Most dealers have few avants, and those that are there are generally stripped (for example, I know of a leftover 99 in hibiscus red with tan leatherette and sunroof which can be had for under 25k).

My ideal car is a silver or santorin blue avant 1.8tq with onxy advance sport seats, sport pkg, sunroof, cold weather package. Sadly it appears that I will have to wait until November for one to be built...

Thanks!

I have had my 99.5 Santorin Blue Avant 1.8tq with 5 speed, onyx advance sports seats, and sports suspension/wheels for one week and 350 delightful miles so far. I opted for no sunroof, Bose upgrade or convenience packages. I foresee a chip in the future for this car as part of its 'enhancement package'.

Upon getting the car, I was pleasantly surprised to find that both of the sports seats have electrically-controlled lumbar support. The seats provide fantastic support, for my aging back. In a moderately spirited pass around a traffic circle last evening (still in break-in), my 15 year old son was blown away by how flat the car remained at a constant speed of about 45 as it changed direction. So was I. The sports suspension and sports seats combination is a delight!

My original salesman understood what I wanted and why, but I still had to put down a $2000 deposit for the order. I got the car through him at $900 over invoice, but it took about 4 months to arrive. By the beginning of August, he had gone back to med school. My new sales guy told me that my options selection was most unique, but when he saw the car, it was a combination that he would readily recommend to others. Another customer has already selected the same set of options, though I am not sure about his/her color and interior combination.

The sight of my car has caught the attention of my neighbors and many of my colleagues at work. Almost none of them ever notices who drives what. The smiles, positive comments and words of praise for this car are a boost to the ego. Best of all, the car is a treat to drive.
