NOBODY is going to pay $80K+ for the RS6. $65K is a much more reasonable price for this car. If you price the RS6 at $80K+ you are going to have an excruciating time selling it unless you offer punishing discounts that really erode resale value. AoA if you are listening and if you read this price the RS6 at $65K (like MT estimated in their 7-02 issue) and NOT at $80K+. That is if you are not only serious about selling all of the 400 or so RS6s bound for the U.S. but also if you seriously want to attract a decent amount of potential M5, E55 AMG and S Type R buyers into Audi showrooms. God gave you a brain, use it.

When you look at the A8, S8, A6 XX lineup, A4, S4, the $80k may be about right.

The car doesn't need to be priced fairly to be priced correctly to make sure you aren't detracting from another lines sales, etc., etc.

I really have no idea what the price should be looking at the "big picture" or otherwise.

They might be sorta' presold...but people will back out before they arrive...you'll find some on the lots.

Let's get real...$65k is way too fuggin' cheap...damn, it is true...Audi owners are fuggin' tightasses!!! The goddamn S6 was $62k + taxes made $67k...open your wallets...stop being so cheap all you Audi owners!!! ;)
I think $75k is more appropriate...although it will be $79-81k base MSRP, + $3500 gas guzzler + $6000 sales tax.

with that kind of performance i will gladly pay
$80k+,even at that price there will be hefty market premiums .expect at least 15k extra.

I love my Audi but I would probably buy an M5 if the RS-6 was the same price and if the RS-6 is $85k that's more than an M5. By the way, the last time I was at my local BMW dealer they had 3 M3s and 2 M5 in stock, so even BMW doesn't have them lining up at their price.

All the changes made over the S6 which brings $60k sticker... you're talking a 4.2TT, 8 pot Brembos, 18/19" wheels, gobs of technology... forget about it.

Went to the dealer yesterday to get a valet key made and i asked them about the rs6. They told me that the 3 that they are getting are already sold. I guess they can charge what ever they want and people will pay.
