Thinking of installing the Eibach Pro-Kit springs on my 2000 A6 2.7t. Any suggestions on where to purchase, what price and is it a do-it-yourself kind of job. I am fairly handy so if it's not a mechanics only kind of job I can probably handle it.

I would say do it. But you might want to get an alignment after. It is reccomended. I got my from supreme power parts.

http://www.supremepowerparts.com/</a

I like my Eibach's - purchased thru the Eddie at the TireRack.. price seems to be about the same everywhere. I choose them as a cheaper upgrade until I decided on coilovers...
I did not upgrade struts - but the PSk struts(not usre if they are different) seem to match fairly well.
Overall I am very happy - the only time I wish for anything different is with a loaded car in the twisties.
The "Audi" version are avail thru Clair for about the same $ I believe - I don't recall if there is any substantial difference but I'm sure someone will address that.
Best of luck

Cost more from dealer, but they be more inclined to service them if you purchased them from the dealer. Not always though.
I had them installed and a 4 wheel alignment done for $228. Cost of spring was ~325 at dealer. I think under $300 at Clair.
Maybe heading to Little Rock to visit an old college buddy in June sometime hope the weather is nice, might try to visit Fayetteville one day and go see my name on the sidewalk.
Keep in mind, the Eibach Pro-kit springs are slightly different than the "sport" springs that you get through the Audi dealer. The Audi springs are the same as in the sport package (PSK or PST option codes). These *are* made by Eibach (hence some of the confusion). The Pro-kit springs are slightly lower (about 1.4", as opposed to about 1" for the Audi).
I did the Pro-kit springs, and really love the look, and the better cornering/handling. I did the springs only (at first), with the stock struts. After about 9 months, I installed the Koni struts, and wished that I had done it at the same time.
If you can, I would definitely do the struts at the same time, since there is minimal additional labor cost, and you only need to pay for 1 4 wheel alignment.
I got the struts and the springs from Tire Rack - probably the biggest overall change I've done - it made it feel much more like the 540i sport that I drove previously...and that's quite a compliment...
