View Full Version : Going to Amsterdam, anything Audi related worth seeing or bring back? Europe Bound 08-11-1999, 07:47 AM nt J.Russ 08-11-1999, 07:52 AM Cohibas or Bolivars will do nicely. nealr 08-11-1999, 08:09 AM nt Ian W 08-11-1999, 08:23 AM I was in A'dam for 2 weeks last month. LOVED IT! Email me and I can fill you in on any details or pass on some tips. As far as Audi related things...you will see LOTS of Audis. Mostly A3's and A4's, most with TDI's, some 1.8's, only a few 1.8T's, and NO 2.8's. The dutch apparently think a little more "green" than us ;-) I went to an Audi dealer along the Amstel River just out of the center to the South. Nothing too exciting, though. I will be heading back for New Year's and can't wait! You will love it! Ian Steve S. 08-11-1999, 08:40 AM No wait...those are in Philadelphia... :-) Steve S. 97 2.8QM Roger 08-11-1999, 08:42 AM That is why you saw so many A3 s, TDi s and smaller engine displacements. Also, the cars cost about twice as much in Europe as they would in the States, because of *much* higher taxes. Zsolt 08-11-1999, 12:11 PM As there are a lot more Audis there, this is not an impossibility. If you like to visit places like that, I'd go for it. Bob W. 08-11-1999, 12:46 PM Ian W 08-11-1999, 12:53 PM . Roger 08-11-1999, 06:59 PM I wonder, because if what you say is true, the Netherlands must have (by far) the cheapest gas prices in Europe. When I filled up my Punto Cabrio rental in Italy not long ago, it cost over the equivalent of over US$70 to top off the tank =-{} |
