"These cars are not about brute HP, that's what Mustangs and Camaros are for. They
are about total, balanced performance. If you start tinkering with an S4, why bother
getting one? The idea is that it's supposed to be optimal right out of the box, and that's
what you're paying Audi for. Maybe you should get a 1.8 and go tweak-crazy."
I am of the opinion that there is no such thing as a perfect car. Only cars such as a McLaren or F50 provide near optimum performance within their given platform. Even Mclaren offered a wide variety of suspension and body options for individual tastes.
The S4 is not the holy grail...it's a damn good starting place. 265hp in a 3600lb car and 0.86g's on the skidpad may get your pulse thumping, but I'm buying the car on its potential.
